Jal Mahal is a small domed pavilion standing in the middle of a stone water tank near Bijapur's old citadel area. The tank is often dry, but the setting still shows how water and pleasure architecture shaped the Adil Shahi royal precinct.
It is best treated as a short stop while walking between the larger monuments around Asar Mahal and the citadel.
