The best time to visit Bijapur is November through February, when daytime temperatures are pleasant (20–28°C) and the air is dry. December and January are the coolest months and the most comfortable for the long walks the monuments demand.
March through May is brutally hot — daytime temperatures regularly above 40°C, the stone pavements unbearable by mid-morning. Visit the monuments before 10 am or after 4 pm if travelling in this period.
June through September brings the southwest monsoon, with afternoon storms. The weather is dramatic and the temperature drops, but the heavier rain showers can disrupt monument visits. October is a transition month, increasingly pleasant.
