By rail: Karwar is on the Konkan Railway line and well connected to Mumbai (around 12 hours), Mangalore, Kochi, and other coastal cities. There are three stations in the taluka — Asnoti, Karwar (Shirwad), and Harwada. The journey from Madgaon (Goa) takes about an hour.
By road: Karwar is 107 km from Panaji (Goa), about 540 km from Bengaluru, 268 km from Mangalore, and 117 km from Dandeli. Both state and private bus services connect Karwar to these cities; the Bengaluru journey takes around 12 hours overnight.
By air: The nearest airport is Dabolim (Goa), about 100 km north of Karwar. Mangalore International Airport is roughly 280 km south and has more domestic connections.
