Dai Ka Mahal

Dai Ka Mahal is a smaller monument south of the central groups, useful if you are following a wider circuit around Sagar Talab and the southern road. It is not an essential first stop, but it gives Mandu's quieter ruins their texture.

The pleasure here is in the setting and the accumulation of fragments. Mandu is at its best when you let the secondary monuments fill the gaps between the headline sites.

A story
Mandu's smaller tombs and palaces are often named through local memory rather than firm documentation. Dai Ka Mahal is one of those places where the name survives more strongly than the biography.
