Jal Mahal

Jal Mahal, the water palace of Mandu, sits beside Manju Talao at the northwestern edge of the royal complex. Its location makes it easier to miss than Jahaz Mahal or Hindola Mahal, but the setting is part of the appeal: narrow passages, steps down toward the water, ruined arches, and traces of fountains and pools.

It is worth adding if you are already exploring Mandu's palace ruins. The remains are fragmentary, so come for atmosphere and the lakeside setting rather than a fully intact monument.
