Panchgani has no railway station of its own — the nearest is Wathar, about 45 km away, or (much better served) Pune, 100 km northeast. Most visitors drive up from Pune (about 2.5 hours via Wai) or from Mumbai (about 5 hours via the Mumbai–Pune Expressway and Wai). State transport buses run from both cities and from nearby Satara. There is no airport; Pune Airport is the closest major hub.
