A vast, flat volcanic plateau on the highest of Panchgani's five hills — the second-largest such plateau in Asia. The walk around the rim is about 3.5 km and takes an hour at a gentle pace; the views over the forested valleys of the Western Ghats are the best in town. A popular Bollywood filming location, so you may well stumble across a shoot in progress. You can reach the top on foot in 15–20 minutes from the market, or hire a horse.
