Ghodbunder Fort

Ghodbunder Fort is a protected hilltop fort near the old horse-trading port that gave the area its name. The Portuguese built it between the 16th and 18th centuries, and it later passed to the Marathas and the East India Company.

The surviving walls are worth a short stop for the history and views over the creek. Go in daylight and expect a simple ruin rather than a restored monument.
