St. John the Baptist Church is one of Thane's older Christian landmarks, with a history of more than four centuries. The church stands near St. John the Baptist High School and Junior College, close to the old core around Masunda Lake.
It is a modest stop, but worthwhile for visitors tracing the Portuguese and early Catholic layers of the Mumbai region rather than only the better-known temples and lakes of Thane.
