Churachandpur is a predominantly Christian town and alcohol is not part of the social landscape in the way it is in many Indian hill towns. There are no bars worth mentioning. Tea stalls are the social institution here — open early, busy through the morning, and a natural place to sit and watch town life. Some sell biscuits and simple snacks alongside tea and occasionally coffee. They are unpretentious and welcoming.
