Tea stalls clustered near the market and bus stand are the social heartbeat of Churachandpur. Strong, sweet tea — often brewed with ginger — is served in small glasses for next to nothing. The stalls attract labourers, students, shopkeepers, and anyone waiting for a shared jeep: good company and a good vantage point. In the mornings they are at their best. A handful of stalls also sell biscuits, boiled eggs, and packets of puffed rice for those wanting something to eat with their tea.
