Moreh is Manipur's border town at the end of NH102, where the road from Imphal and Tengnoupal drops toward Myanmar's Kabaw Valley. It is a trading town first and a tourist town only in a very limited sense: markets, checkpoints, border traffic, mixed communities, and the feeling of being at the edge of India.
The town faces Tamu across the border, and for years Moreh was discussed as a gateway for India-Myanmar-Thailand road travel. That idea still matters politically and economically, but travellers should treat the border as a sensitive frontier, not a casual crossing. Conditions in Manipur and across the Myanmar side can change quickly, and onward travel into Myanmar requires current, official advice.
Moreh is most interesting as the end point of the hill road from Imphal. The drive over Tengnoupal is scenic, and the town gives a direct look at the trade and tension that shape India's eastern borderlands. It is not a place to improvise: check permits, security conditions, and transport before setting out.
