Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport (ATQ) is 11 km north of the city center. It has direct flights from Delhi, Mumbai, and several international destinations including London (Air India), Toronto, and Dubai. A taxi from the airport to the city takes 20–30 minutes.
By train, Amritsar is well connected to Delhi (5–6 hours on the Shatabdi Express, which departs New Delhi early morning). There are also overnight trains from Mumbai and other major cities. The railway station is a short auto-rickshaw ride from the Golden Temple.
From Delhi by road, the journey is around 450 km on the GT Road (NH44) — a comfortable 7–8 hours by bus or private car. Deluxe bus services run overnight from Delhi.
