Geeta Mandir

A 20th-century Hindu temple in the Model Town area, distinguished by its white marble construction and the verses of the Bhagavad Gita inscribed in Sanskrit on the inner walls. The main shrine is to Krishna and Radha. The complex is small but well kept and has a peaceful courtyard that is a welcome break from the surrounding traffic.

Free entry, generally open from early morning to late evening with a break in the afternoon. The temple is most active in the early evening when locals come for the aarti ceremony. Combine with a walk through Model Town, Jalandhar's most planned residential area, with its tree-lined avenues laid out in the 1950s.
