The old city and Junagarh Fort are walkable from most guesthouses in the city centre. For longer distances — Lalgarh Palace, the Camel Research Farm, or the outer city — auto-rickshaws are the standard option. Agree on a price before setting off.
Cycle-rickshaws navigate the narrow lanes of the old city better than autos. Taxis can be arranged through guesthouses for day trips to Deshnoke (Karni Mata Temple), the Sam Sand Dunes area, or further afield. There is no city bus network worth using as a visitor.
