Fatehgadi gives Dungarpur a rugged hilltop counterpoint to its palaces and lake views. The old fort site is more about position and atmosphere than polished interpretation, with stonework, slopes, and views that show why this rise mattered.
It is worth the climb if you enjoy less manicured Rajput-era sites. Go in cooler hours, wear sensible shoes, and use the viewpoint to piece together Dungarpur's setting between water, town, and low hills.
