Getting There

Pushkar has no railway station within the town itself, though a small halt (Pushkar Terminus) exists about 3km out. The practical approach is via Ajmer, 15km away, which is well-served by rail.

By train to Ajmer: Ajmer is on the main Jaipur–Ahmedabad line and has good connections from Delhi (around 7 hours on the Shatabdi Express), Jaipur (2 hours), and Jodhpur (3 hours). From Ajmer, shared jeeps, auto-rickshaws, and buses run to Pushkar regularly throughout the day. The journey takes 30-45 minutes.

By bus: Rajasthan State Transport Corporation buses run from Jaipur, Jodhpur, and other Rajasthani cities directly to Pushkar. Journey times are longer than rail but the route is direct. Private sleeper buses from Delhi (overnight, around 10 hours) are available and fairly comfortable.

By road: Pushkar is about 400km from Delhi (6-7 hours by car) and 145km from Jaipur (2.5-3 hours). The NH48 and NH58 are well-surfaced national highways. During the camel fair, road access to Pushkar becomes very congested; allow extra time.
