Ambamata Temple

One of the most active Hindu temples in Udaipur, dedicated to the goddess Amba (a form of Durga) and traditionally believed to date back to the 16th century, though the present structure is largely modern. The shrine is set in a courtyard reached through a low arched gateway, with smaller shrines to Shiva, Hanuman, and Ganesh ranged around the perimeter.

This is not a tourist sight — it is a working pilgrimage temple, busy on Tuesdays and during Navratri (September–October) when whole streets close off for queues. Worth a visit precisely because it isn't curated for foreigners; the rhythm of aarti at sunrise and sunset is unforgettable.
