Udaipur is one of the best shopping cities in Rajasthan — miniature paintings, mojari leather slippers, block-printed textiles, silver jewellery, and puppets are all produced in or near the city. The main shopping streets are Bada Bazaar (the spice and food bazaar north of the Jagdish Temple), Hathipole (textiles, silver, and miniature painting workshops), and Chetak Circle (modern retail and tailoring).
Prices in tourist-facing shops are very negotiable — start at one-third the asking price. The cooperatives like Sadhna (women's collective handlooms) offer fixed prices and reliable quality.
