A small pond at the foot of Machhla Magra hill, Doodh Talai (literally "milk pond") is ringed by a landscaped park with musical fountains, a small Japanese rock garden, and benches looking out across the water to the City Palace. It is connected to Lake Pichola by a short channel, so technically the boats can pass between them.
The musical fountain show in the evening is a kitschy local favourite — coloured spotlights, Bollywood songs — and the surrounding paths fill with families. Worth a stop if you're already heading up the ropeway to Karni Mata.
