The largest garden in Udaipur — 100 acres of lawns, rose beds, water features, and old-growth trees laid out by Maharana Sajjan Singh in the 1880s. Locals call it Sajjan Niwas Garden; the name Gulab Bagh (rose garden) refers to the central rose collection. There's a small zoo, a toy train that runs at weekends, and a Saraswati Bhandar library in an old palace pavilion.
A pleasant green escape from the dense old city, especially in the early morning when families and joggers have it largely to themselves. Entry is a few rupees; the zoo costs a little more.
