A small modern Hindu temple dedicated to the goddess Karni Mata, perched on the Machhla Magra hill above Doodh Talai lake. The temple itself is unremarkable — what brings you up here is the ropeway and the view.
A short, swinging cable car climbs from the foot of the hill in about two minutes and deposits you at the top, where the panorama takes in Lake Pichola, the City Palace, the Lake Palace and the Jag Mandir, with the Aravalli hills stretching beyond. It is one of the most spectacular sunset spots in Udaipur and gets busy as the light fades — go early, stay through dusk.
