Nagda Temples

A short detour from Eklingji takes you to Nagda, the abandoned capital of the early Mewar kingdom. The two surviving 10th-century temples — Saas Bahu ("mother-in-law and daughter-in-law"), twin Vishnu shrines that face each other across a small courtyard — are covered in some of the finest stone carving in Rajasthan: dancing figures, lovers, gods, and densely worked floral panels.

The site is quiet and rarely crowded; you can have the temples to yourself on a weekday morning. Best combined with the Eklingji visit in a single half-day trip.
