Dehradun is well-connected by road, rail, and air. The Jolly Grant Airport, about twenty kilometres southeast of the centre, has hourly flights from Delhi (under an hour) and direct flights from Mumbai, Bangalore, and Lucknow. From the airport into town is about forty-five minutes by taxi.
Trains from Delhi (Nizamuddin, Anand Vihar, and old Delhi) take six to seven hours; the fast Vande Bharat service is the most comfortable. The bus is slower and cheaper; overnight Volvo coaches leave Delhi's Kashmiri Gate ISBT every evening. Rishikesh is forty minutes by road, Mussoorie an hour up the hill, and Haridwar an hour southeast.
