Dehradun is not a sightseeing city by Indian standards — most travellers pass through on their way up to Mussoorie or Rishikesh. But the cantonment district holds a handful of fine colonial-era institutions, there are two unusual temples in the surrounding hills, and the bazaars near the Clock Tower are a good half-day for anyone with an appetite for street food and small shops.
