A 600-metre natural gorge called Gucchu Pani — "the place of seeping water" — about eight kilometres from the centre, where a small stream emerges from underground, disappears between two cliffs, and flows along an open river bed before vanishing again. Local tradition claims the cave once sheltered bandits during the colonial period; whether true or not, the name stuck.
You wade barefoot through ankle-deep water along the gorge floor — cool, refreshing, and a popular weekend escape for Doon residents. Avoid weekends if you want any chance of solitude. Bring sandals you can soak.
