Kanpur Zoological Park, often called Allen Forest Zoo, is unusually green for a north Indian city zoo because it occupies part of a natural forest patch in Nawabganj. The collection includes big cats, deer, birds, reptiles, and a small lake area, spread across a site that feels less cramped than many urban zoos.
It is mainly a family outing rather than a specialist wildlife destination. Still, the shade and relative quiet make it a useful break from central Kanpur, particularly if you are travelling with children or need a low-pressure afternoon.
