Panchet Hill rises above the Damodar River and the reservoir behind Panchet Dam. The wooded slopes make a good add-on to a dam visit, especially for the view from higher ground across the water and the low edge of the Chota Nagpur Plateau.
It is a quiet, local-feeling excursion rather than a polished attraction. Go in the clearer months if you want the reservoir views, and combine it with Panchet Dam or Maithon for a fuller day west of Asansol.
