The most famous of the Nabadwip lal doi shops, near the Poramatala temple. The deep-red sweetened yoghurt — its colour from caramelised sugar, its taste a perfect balance of sweet and tart — is set overnight in earthenware pots and sold in the morning, often gone by mid-afternoon.
Also stocks sandesh, rasagolla, and the local kheer-er chop. Buy a clay pot of doi, eat it cold under a tree by the river, throw the pot in the bin. The classic Nabadwip breakfast.
