Seminyak Beach

Seminyak Beach is a long, wide, west-facing strand running from Pura Petitenget south into Legian and Kuta. The sand is grey-gold and the surf is consistently big — fun for boarding, less so for swimming, particularly when the rip is running. Lifeguards are stationed at the main access points and the red and yellow flag system is taken seriously; pay attention to it.

The beach is the centre of Seminyak life. From mid-afternoon the lounger-and-umbrella operators set up; by sunset the beach clubs along the dune line are full. South of Petitenget, beach bars and warungs serve cheap Bintang and grilled fish until late.
