Pandeglang is about 110 km from Jakarta. The fastest route is the Jakarta–Merak toll road; exit at West Serang and follow the Serang–Pandeglang highway south. Driving time is around two hours outside peak periods, three hours or more in heavy traffic — Java's tolls fill up at weekends.
Public buses leave from Jakarta's Kalideres terminal for Pandeglang and Labuan; the journey takes three to four hours. Within the regency, angkot minivans and ojek (motorcycle taxis) cover the route to Carita, Anyer, and the trailheads for Mount Karang and Pulosari, but for the longer trip to Ujung Kulon you should plan on a chartered car or a pre-arranged tour.
