Pulosari is a smaller dormant volcano southwest of Pandeglang town, popular as a half-day climb. The summit at 1,346 metres opens into a wide grassy crater that is one of the most peaceful campsites in Java when you have it to yourself.
Trails leave from the village of Cilentung; the climb takes around three hours of steady going up through clove and durian plantations, then forest. Local guides can be arranged in the village. Pair with the megalithic pools at Citaman lower down the same slope.
