Jakat Beach sits near Fort Marlborough on Segara Bay and has calmer water than much of Bengkulu's open coast. Local visitors come for cheap fried seafood, beach stalls, swimming, and rented water toys when conditions are right.
It is not a postcard beach, but it is useful for seeing Bengkulu's everyday seaside life without leaving the city.
