Atashgah

Atashgah is a ruined Zoroastrian fire temple on a rocky hill west of Isfahan. The climb is short but exposed, and the reward is a wide view back over the city, the Zayandeh River plain, and the dry hills around it.

The site is rough rather than polished, with ancient mud-brick remains clinging to the summit. Wear proper shoes; the slope is awkward on the way down, especially in heat.
