Rasht's best sights are woven into daily life rather than set apart behind gates. Start at Municipality Square, then walk into Rasht Bazaar while the fish, herbs, and pickles are still fresh. The old centre is compact enough to explore on foot, though traffic around it can be assertive.
For a broader sense of Gilan, make time for the Gilan Rural Heritage Museum in Saravan Forest Park. It is more than a folk display: whole wooden houses from different parts of the province have been dismantled, moved, and reassembled there. Eynak Lagoon, on the western edge of the city, is rougher and less curated, but good for seeing the wetland landscape that surrounds Rasht.
