Ali Ibn Hamzeh Shrine is one of Shiraz's most rewarding smaller religious sights. The exterior is modest compared with Shah Cheragh, but inside the shrine opens into glittering mirrorwork, coloured glass, tile panels, and the careful symmetry that makes Persian sacred interiors feel almost weightless.
It is dedicated to Shah Mir-Ali Ibn Hamza, a descendant of Musa al-Kazim, and sits near Hafez Street, making it easy to combine with the northern garden and tomb circuit. Dress respectfully and move slowly; the point here is not only the decoration, but the calm, intimate atmosphere that survives around it.
