The teahouse inside the gardens of the Tomb of Hafez is the obvious extension of a visit to the mausoleum. The pavilion sits beside a long rectangular pool, with cushions arranged on raised platforms and the smell of cypress and orange blossom in the air.
Order tea and a hookah, ask the waiter for a fal — a Hafez fortune drawn at random from his Divan — and watch Iranian families do the same. There are few more enjoyable ways to spend a late afternoon in Iran than this.
