Sharzeh is a Shiraz institution, housed in a vaulted brick chamber off the Vakil Bazaar with carpets on the platforms and a small stage for the evening musicians. The menu sticks to classical Persian fare done well: kalam polo Shirazi, ghormeh sabzi, lamb shank with saffron rice, and the obligatory Shirazi salad.
Prices are higher than at the everyday places, but the setting and the live music — usually a santur or oud player after about 8pm — make it worth the visit at least once. Reservations are sensible at weekends.
