Mount Tabor rises cleanly from the Lower Galilee, a rounded landmark visible from far across the surrounding farmland. For Christian travellers it is traditionally linked with the Transfiguration; for everyone else it offers a strong viewpoint and a clear sense of Galilee's geography.
The summit is usually reached by road or taxi rather than a casual stroll from Nazareth. Go early if you want quieter church visits and clearer views, and allow time for the winding road up and down.
