☰Hida Folk Village (Hida no Sato)

An open-air museum on the western edge of town, preserving over 30 historic buildings relocated from villages across the Hida region — farmhouses with the characteristic steep gassho-zukuri thatched roofs, storehouses, and craft workshops. A single ticket covers both sections, connected by a pleasant walk through the grounds. Allow two hours. The museum gives a genuine sense of how mountain communities lived through long, snow-locked winters.
