Tanaka Villa

Tanaka Villa was the summer villa of Tanaka Giichi, the Hagi-born army officer who became prime minister of Japan from 1927 to 1929. Displays include photographs, personal items, and military uniforms connected with his career.

The house adds a later political chapter to Hagi's better-known samurai and Meiji Restoration story. It is most interesting if you are already tracing the city's historic residences.
