Opened in 2004, Muza Kawasaki Symphony Hall is widely regarded as one of the best concert halls in Japan for acoustic quality. The design — a curved vineyard-style interior wrapped in a glass facade — was the result of an international competition, and the hall seats around 1,900 with a warm, close relationship between stage and audience.
The Tokyo Symphony Orchestra is based here and gives its most important Kawasaki performances in this hall. A full programme of visiting ensembles, soloists, and chamber groups runs year-round. The hall is connected directly to Kawasaki Station, making it easy to combine with an evening in the station area. Ticket prices are reasonable by Tokyo-area concert standards, and last-minute availability is often better than at Tokyo venues.
