Yonehara Beach is one of Ishigaki's better shore-snorkeling spots, with coral close enough to reach from the sand. The setting is relaxed and natural compared with the island's more developed resort beaches.
Conditions matter here: currents can be strong, and there may be no lifeguards. Go for the reef and clear water, but treat it as a nature beach rather than a managed swimming pool.
