Eating Out

Ahmadi's dining scene is modest compared to Kuwait City, reflecting its residential character. The town has a cluster of casual restaurants and cafés along the main commercial strip, serving a mix of Kuwaiti, South Asian, and Filipino cuisines — a nod to the diverse workforce that has always lived here. Fast food chains have arrived in recent years, but the more interesting meals tend to be at the smaller South Asian spots that have served the oil industry's expat workers for decades.

For a proper Kuwaiti meal, most residents drive up to Kuwait City, a 40-minute journey on the highway. The town's commercial centre near the main roundabout has a handful of options for a quick lunch, and the supermarkets are well stocked for self-catering.
