Bab al-Mina ("Gate of the Port") is a restaurant on the harbour front with a good reputation for fish mezze and grilled seafood at slightly more moderate prices than some of its neighbours. The kitchen does the Lebanese coastal standards well — raw fish (samak nayeh), grilled sea bream, and the mezze spreads of local herbs, olive oil, and seasonal vegetables that make a Lebanese seafood meal one of the most satisfying in the eastern Mediterranean.
The outdoor terrace overlooks the harbour and is the best place to sit in the evenings. The interior is comfortable for cooler months. Service is efficient without being rushed, and the restaurant can accommodate groups. Open for lunch and dinner; reservations useful in summer.
