Byblos Wax Museum

The Byblos Wax Museum presents scenes from Phoenician history and mythology through wax figures in period settings — traders, priests, craftsmen, and historical rulers recreated in tableaux that attempt to bring the ancient city's daily life to vivid form. It is a minor attraction compared to the archaeological site, but it can be a useful complement for visitors who want a more narrative introduction to Phoenician culture before tackling the ruins, or who are travelling with children who find bare stone foundations less compelling than human figures.

The museum is housed in an old building in the town centre, conveniently close to the main archaeological site entrance. It's a short visit — most people spend 30 to 45 minutes — and the entry fee is modest.
