Sidon is 40 km south of Beirut on the coastal highway. Service taxis (shared minibuses) leave frequently from Cola roundabout in Beirut and take about an hour. Private taxis are quick but more expensive — agree the fare before getting in.
There is no passenger railway in Lebanon. From Sidon, the same service taxis continue south to Tyre and east into the mountains. Security conditions in southern Lebanon have varied since 2024; check travel advice before going.
