Hiram Scuba Diving operates from the Mina area of Tyre and is the established operator for diving in these waters. The sites range from shallow reef dives accessible to beginners at 11-20 metres to deeper explorations: "The Crater" descends to 36-60 metres, and there are underwater freshwater springs — a striking experience where fresh and salt water visibly mix. Underwater ruins add archaeological interest to the dive sites; ancient stone construction and ceramics are visible on the seabed in places.
The visibility in these waters is generally good, and the reefs support a reasonable variety of Mediterranean marine life. Equipment rental is available, and the club offers both guided dives for certified divers and introductory dives for beginners. Booking ahead is worth doing since the operation is small and guides are limited. As with all activity in the southern Lebanon region, check current security conditions before making plans — the 2024 conflict affected the area and the situation on the ground should be verified before travel.
