The Sea Life Museum is a modest local institution with exhibits on the marine environment of the eastern Mediterranean coast — fish species, sea turtles, coral, and the coastal ecosystem of the Tyre area. It is not large, and a visit takes less than an hour, but it provides useful context for the sea turtle nesting that happens on Tyre Beach and the broader ecology of the Tyre Coast Nature Reserve.
The museum is a good stop if you are travelling with children or want to understand more about the underwater environment before diving. It also has material on the historical fishing traditions of the Tyre coast. Opening hours can be irregular, so it is worth asking locally before making a special trip. The exhibits are generally labelled in Arabic and French, with limited English signage.
