Tyre Hippodrome is the great showpiece of the Al-Bass archaeological zone, a vast Roman-era arena where chariot races once drew crowds from across the city. Its scale is still clear on the ground, with the long track, seating, and central spine giving a strong sense of the spectacle.
It is one of the best-preserved Roman hippodromes anywhere in the eastern Mediterranean and belongs high on any Tyre visit. Combine it with the nearby necropolis for the clearest picture of the ancient city.
